Most people do not realise the costs involved with quilting. I spent today making a quilt for a new baby. Only a panel, but with wadding, backing and time taken. Total costs would be $236. That was with machine binding front and back..I am pretty proud of those corners. Would be nice to be able to charge a true professionals charge per hour, but customers would baulk at paying the same wage as a tradie.
Is a Longarm Machine Quilting Service for the Busy Quilter based in South East Queensland, Australia. I enjoy creatively quilting designs to enhance the piecing and fabric within a quilt. I have been piecing quilt tops since 2001, machine quilting them since 2004 and a longarm quilter since 2008. I have recently been recognised with numerous Quilt Show awards, both nationally and internationally, for both my piecing and quilting.
So true. Like any professional that has learnt the skills of their trade, quilters too should be paid accordingly.

Lovely quilt for a new baby. Crafters never seem to be able to get a fair price for the work they do, but as long as you enjoy it I suppose that is what really matters.
