Baby Blanket

Most people do not realise the costs involved with quilting.  I spent today making a quilt for a new baby.  Only a panel, but with wadding, backing and time taken.  Total costs would be $236.  That was with machine binding front and back..I am pretty proud of those corners.  Would be nice to be able to charge a true professionals charge per hour,  but customers would baulk at paying the same wage as a tradie.

  1. So true. Like any professional that has learnt the skills of their trade, quilters too should be paid accordingly.
Whoever is the recipient of this quilt, is lucky. It's beautiful!

  2. Lovely quilt for a new baby. Crafters never seem to be able to get a fair price for the work they do, but as long as you enjoy it I suppose that is what really matters.
